Meet Atlanta, GA’s very own Peach 3; comprised of Kai, Mikki VI & LB. On a mission to empower women everywhere, the ladies of Peach 3 are rising above all challenges through their tightly knit sisterhood, as they continue to break down barriers while at the same time pursuing their collective dreams. Theirs is the voice of a new generation.
Muzikscribe: Please introduce for me the members of Peach3…
Peach 3: Kai, Mikki VI [Mikki 6] & LB [Pounds]: Peach3 is a recording group of three beautiful gifted young ladies; Kai , LB [Pounds] and Mikki VI, who love to perform. We are pursuing a career in the music industry while implementing fun and positivity through our work on and off the stage.
Muzikscribe: Now tell me your whole inception into music -- When did you all first become interested in it? And, how did it all begin for Peach3?
Kai: I actually haven’t been in the music industry very long…I mean, I have been taking vocal lessons since I was little but I never really had the confidence to let my voice be heard, so when Ian, our manager, said he believed I could do it I took the leap.
LB: I was always interested in singing as a child. I was involved in the choir at church, and also sang in elementary and middle school. I took a rest and did not come back to music until 2023 July. That is when I came to know my sisters in Peach3
Mikki: I’ve been singing since I was a little girl, but I was really shy then so my mom put me into dance to raise my confidence. Over the years, I showed interest in singing but it wasn’t until 2 years ago that I really wanted to get serious about it.
Muzikscribe: Now where exactly do y’all hail from? And growing up there, who all did / do you all consider to be your strongest musical influences?
LB: I was born in Greensboro, SC, raised in Atlanta since I was 2.
Kai: Born in Oakland, CA, and raised in Atlanta.
Mikki: Born and raised in the ATL.
…Our musical influences are: SZA, Beyoncé, Tyler, the Creator, TLC.
Muzikscribe: Now from an individual standpoint, what do each of you bring to the table both personality-wise and creatively?
Kai: We all definitely add different layers to the group! I think my personality is bold and bright, I’m a very positive person and I definitely love to have fun and goof around. I think my personality plays a big role in who I am as a creative. When I’m creating, I tend to lean towards more fun ideas, I guess you could say. Even when I’m dancing in my room alone, it feels like I’m headlining my own concert. I can really imagine how I want everything to look; from the cool outfits to the crazy set.
LB: I'm naturally inquisitive, and I bring that into our work environment. That can be seen as both negative and positive, but I hope mostly positive! lol. I also write, and that's another creative passion I have in addition to singing and dancing.
Mikki: My creativity shows up in different ways. I write, I vocal arrange, and after finishing a song I can create an entire music video in my head for it. I create lots of ideas for our sound and our visuals. The “IV” In Mikki IV stands for my 6 talents in the entertainment industry; singer dancer, rapper, actress, writer and musician.
Muzikscribe: In having said that, how do you all classify your overall sound and / or style?
Peach 3: We are definitely more of a Pop R&B / Hip Hop group. We can do it all! Our sound is raw and different, and we feel we bring a new flavor to the music industry.
Muzikscribe: Where does the group’s moniker originally derive from?
Peach 3: Our management team came up with the name that highlights us being raised in the ATL. Three Georgia Peaches, thus Peach3!
Muzikscribe: What particular string of events actually led to your initial linking up with music impresario Ian Burke?
Peach 3: He actually came looking for us to fill a void he saw in entertainment.
Switching gears here…
Muzikscribe: What do you all feel will be the ultimate key to your longevity? And what will it be then that will continue to sustain you all in this business?
Peach 3: We inspire people to dance and have fun. That never goes out of style.
Muzikscribe: What do you all want people to get from your music?
Peach 3: We want people to get up and dance, move their bodies. We also want people to be their authentic selves, and hope that they connect that with our more laid back songs as well.
Muzikscribe: If you all could collaborate with any one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
Peach 3: It's hard for us to say just one because we are three people. So our answers would be Michael Jackson, Beyoncé and SZA.
Muzikscribe: If you all could play any venue in the world, which one would you choose and why?
Peach 3: Coachella, because it looks like so much fun.
Muzikscribe: On a more serious note, are you all happy with the current state of R&B? And, even more specifically, why do you all feel that we, the masses, don’t see the group dynamic like it was back in, say, the nineties?
Peach 3: There isn't enough R&B out right now; what is out doesn't have much variety in sound. We aren't exactly sure why there aren't more groups. A lot of people, especially in America these days, seem to move singular and not as a collective. It could be because that's easier, but the group is definitely fun.
Muzikscribe: Do you all have any other outside / additional aspirations, maybe even completely away from music?
Kai: Fashion.
Mikki VI: Acting.
LB: Choreography.
Muzikscribe: To date, what has been your greatest career moment(s), at least thus far anyway?
Peach 3: Traveling together and performing in different places.
Muzikscribe: What’s an average day like for you all?
Peach 3: Right now, we are one high school senior and two college students. We each have school, dance and / or singing rehearsals daily. Some days are studio days.
Muzikscribe: Please discuss how you all interact with and respond to fans...
Peach 3: Currently, the majority of interaction and responding is through social media…but we love meeting people at events and speaking in person.
Muzikscribe: What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? And, why?
Peach 3: Our favorite part is dancing and creating songs…our least favorite part is getting less sleep.
Muzikscribe: What advice would you all have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?
Peach 3: Being in Peach3 is really fun, however, there are long hours and a lot of hard work. It’s best to prepare yourself with sleep, healthy food and make sure you have a solid support system for your mental well-being.
Muzikscribe: Lastly, what’s next for Peach3?
Peach 3: This summer we have shows planned in Vegas, Denver, Ohio and Atlanta so far, with more being added all the time. This is just the beginning for us!
