N0face is emerging from the shadows, bringing a raw, unfiltered sound that hits hard. Once part of the polished R&B scene, he’s traded shine for grit, turning scars, late nights, and street stories into music that refuses to be ignored. N0face, no filter.
Let’s hop into this single, “Twerk Ya Body” — Tell me about this particular track; how did it come to fruition?
It’s funny, “Twerk Ya Body” came around as a joke; I was in the studio to work on something totally different, and the producer played this beat and I was like, “hmm…,” then the hook came right to me, “girl, twerk ya body, girl twerk it to the ground now”…we all laughed, and was like, “damn, that may work,” and I took it home, finished it, then cut it.
As a songwriter when you sit down to pen your lyrics, where do you draw inspiration from?
The inspiration came from the beat; I have to be able to see it…as well, I’m a visualizer; I have to see to believe it, kinda sorta.
Tell me your whole inception into music — When did you first become interested in it? And, how did it all begin for N0face?
I’ve been in the music for about 7 years. I became interested when I realized music is moving into another direction; I don’t want to be normal, it has to be a bigger picture. I wanted to bring excitement back to the music; wanted to bring the fun back, the mystery, the true artistry. It’s said that you have to look a certain way in order for consumers to want to purchase your music; this way they can concentrate on the music and not the face. I wanted to stand out. I’m way more than just music. Music is just 5% of me. That doesn’t define me as you will see. There’s a lot more to me.
Now where do you actually hail from? And growing up there, who all did / do you consider to be your strongest musical influences?
I’m from Florida; let’s say Miami. No, I was not born and raised there, but I was manifested there…my musical influence is all artists that are different, and not regular. There are a lot of singers out there, but what can you do? Can you hold the attention of others? How’s your energy? Do people like you? Are you helping your community? Are you giving back?? That’s the real shit!
That said, how do you describe and / or define the style of music that you create and / or perform?
My style of music is for everyone who can feel it. It’s fun, it’s a worldly vibe! It’s about having a good time dancing, singing. This is the time of depression; a lot of people deal with it, specifically with men. So, I like to create songs that lift people up, and they can forget about things that make them feel heavy. They can pop on a N0face joint, and zone out.
If you could collaborate with any one artist, living or dead, who would it be and why?
There’s so many artists I would love to work with; like Bad Bunny because his energy is dope! I would work with Pitbull as well. Man, I could write a whole list!
If you could play any venue in the world, which one would you choose and why?
There’s too many venues; all football arenas all over the world.
On a more serious note, are you happy with the current state of music?
Music is changing every day; you have to adapt accordingly in order to survive. Find your niche, and milk it.
Do you have any other outside / additional (future) aspirations, maybe even completely away from music?
You will have to see what I have next, which is a lot…I don’t want to spill the beans prematurely.
To date, what has been your biggest career moment(s), at least thus far anyway?
My biggest career moment was the day I decided to let N0face manifest, and not hold back.
What’s an average day like for you?
The average day for me is wake up, pray, be silent, drink iced coffee, and smoke some weed and wait for direction. After I hear from God, then commence.
Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans...
I love my fans!!…my fans are the coolest, non-judgmental, sexy and gets it! Shoutout to all of my super-fans! And, always reach out to my super-fans on social media personally; we be chillin’, ask them if you want.
What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? And, why?
I love it all! You have to know what you signed up for; so I love it all. The shows is everything, but everything is everything, sooo I love it all once again.
What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?
You wanna follow my footsteps, be you! And, build a great team who believe in your vision, and believe in God.
Looking ahead, say five or maybe even ten years from now, where do you see yourself?
In 5 years, N0face will be everywhere; you can’t even possibly imagine, but I can.
As for the immediate, what's next for N0face?
What’s next for me is to continue to put out music. I have a video October 28th called “Twerk Ya Body” on Vevo and Spotify, Apple Music, etcetera, and other things I don’t care to mention at this time.
Is there anything I left out or just plain forgot to mention?
Look me up on the ‘Gram: @iamn0face.
Lastly, any “parting” words for our readers?
It’s all about the music, not the face! — @iamn0face
