In an era where music often prioritizes catchy trends over truth, BaiiTown stands as a refreshing force of authenticity. Known for his ability to weave emotional depth with intellectual lyricism, he creates music that not only entertains but resonates on a deeper level. With past singles like "If I Die," "Thinking," and "Humility," he has already proven his talent for storytelling. Now, with the release of his latest project, Welcome 2 BaiiTown, he’s inviting listeners even further into his world. In this exclusive interview, BaiiTown opens up about his journey, creative process, and what this new chapter means for his artistry.

SFND MAG: We appreciate you taking the time to do this interview. Let’s start with your roots—where are you from, and how has your upbringing shaped your journey in music?

BaiiTown: I’m from South Bend, Indiana, I feel like my upbringing has definitely taught me the ability to adapt in most situations.

SFND MAG: What initially sparked your passion for music? Was there a defining moment when you knew this was your calling?

BaiiTown: I wouldn’t necessarily say there was a specific defining moment but I feel like music has always been part of me.

SFND MAG: Your music blends emotional depth with intellectual lyricism. Who or what has influenced your sound and storytelling approach the most?

BaiiTown: J. Cole mostly. I love how he articulates.

SFND MAG: Your previous singles like "If I Die," "Thinking," and "Humility" carry deep messages. How do you decide which personal experiences or themes to explore in your music?

BaiiTown: I decide by going off of the way the beat makes me feel and then use that feeling to articulate myself in the song.

SFND MAG: Your upcoming project, Welcome 2 BaiiTown - EP, drops on April 9th. What inspired this project, and what message do you want listeners to take away from it?

BaiiTown: I feel like Welcome to BaiiTown is the introduction of me as an artist and allows me to give a brief insight of to what’s to come in the future.

SFND MAG: Just glancing at the track listing, tracks like "Save My Soul" and "Trophies" suggest themes of struggle and success. Can you break down the meaning behind some of the songs and what they represent in your life right now?

BaiiTown: So Save My Soul would be kind of like a brief summary of my love life on top of like my faith and my belief system, and I feel like Trophies is sort of an arrogant person that shows how my perception and how I view love has changed from Save My Soul.

SFND MAG: Authenticity seems to be a major part of your artistry. How do you balance staying true to yourself while navigating the industry’s pressures?

BaiiTown: I feel like me knowing myself is the biggest important key to staying true and staying authentic in this industry, especially knowing when you’re dealing with certain personalities or certain characters that could either be detrimental to your career or helpful to your career. Also, I don’t over consume shit, like I don’t try to over consume too much music and too much of someone else’s idea so I can stay tuned into my own thoughts to my own creativity.

SFND MAG: Beyond Welcome 2 BaiiTown, what’s next for you? Any collaborations, visuals, or live performances we should look out for?

BaiiTown: Yeah, we’ve been working on a lot of visuals lately. They are really actually already ready and in line just waiting a second and drop at the right time. Timing is big and as far as features go yeah I got a couple of mine. I don’t wanna do that I have done so just stay tune as far as live performances. I do you have a few lined up in New York so I’m thankful for that. And if I’m correct, I think we have one in Chicago as well.

SFND MAG: If you could leave a lasting impression on your audience with one message through your music, what would it be?

BaiiTown:  I would tell them put God first.

SFND MAG: For those just discovering BaiiTown, how would you describe your sound and the experience of listening to your music?

BaiiTown: I will describe it as whatever you need it to be. My ability to to cross from genre to genre kind of separates me from a lot of artists and I feel like that’s very important for standing out in this day and age, especially when the music industry is constantly evolving.  I feel like that’s what will be important in my career, being able to reach different types of audiences.
