9XV Capital Partners is a growing investment firm that blends legacy, entrepreneurship, and community impact in a thoughtful and strategic way. Founded by Joedy Addison and later joined by partner Tony Gastearl, the company honors a deep family history while embracing modern innovation across industries like real estate, entertainment, athletics, and brand development.
At the heart of the company lies the legacy of Joedy’s grandfather, Joseph Addison, a trailblazing entrepreneur and civic leader in Savannah, Georgia. Known for his impact in the automotive business, real estate, and local activism, Joseph’s influence inspired Joedy to launch 9XV as a platform for generational wealth, empowerment, and opportunity.

“9XV Capital Partners was inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit that came from Joedy's grandfather Joseph Addison,” the founders shared with So FN Dope Magazine. “He made significant contributions in the automotive industry, real estate, and local activism.”
The name “9XV” itself pays homage to their first real estate investment at 915 Montgomery Street in Savannah—a symbolic and literal foundation for a company now leading ventures in business marketing, talent services, nonprofit outreach, and more.
Joedy, a University of Alabama graduate and former college baseball player, brings a business-minded approach to 9XV, shaped by his success in real estate and strategic partnerships. Now based in New Orleans, he sees business not just as a tool for profit, but as a vehicle for sustainable, community-centered growth.

“In 9XV, those skills help assess not just the financial viability of a venture, but also its structural sustainability,” Joedy explained. “Whether it’s negotiating a public-private partnership for a youth sports facility or helping a founder structure a scalable revenue model, that business lens adds rigor and leverage to the cultural and athletic vision.”
Joining Joedy in leadership is Tony Gastearl, a Philadelphia-born, New Orleans-raised entrepreneur whose background spans music, sports management, and youth development. With credentials in both Sport Management and Music Business, Tony has worked alongside legendary artists like Ras Kass, Usher, and Beanie Sigel, while also building a solid reputation in coaching, pro scouting, and athletic operations with ventures like Atletico Orlando FC and NOLA Gold Rugby.

“Today’s young people are not siloed in their interests—they consume sports, music, fashion, social justice, and tech as a unified culture,” Tony said. “Ventures that recognize and authentically integrate these elements have a far deeper and longer-lasting impact.”
It’s that shared vision that brought Joedy and Tony together after meeting in New Orleans. Alongside their partnership with 9XV the two are also working together to launch RECRUIT FIRST, Tony’s forthcoming nonprofit, which is primarily focused on preparing youth—particularly from underrepresented communities—for careers in the business side of sports.

“RECRUIT FIRST is designed to be a pipeline equipping youth with tangible, actionable access to networks, training, and career pathways in the sports industry,” Tony explained. “It’s about more than exposure—it’s about creating real opportunity.”
The synergy between their different backgrounds—Joedy’s structured business acumen and Tony’s culturally immersive approach—has allowed 9XV Capital to grow quickly and adaptively. Still, cross-industry collaboration isn’t without its hurdles.
“One of the biggest challenges is aligning language, expectations, and timelines across very different cultures—sports, entertainment, real estate, and tech each move at their own pace,” the two acknowledged. “But so far, we have not faced any real challenges as we continue to grow.”
Through its nonprofit arm, 9XV Cares, the firm continues to expand its community reach—providing resources, education, and partnerships that directly impact underserved populations. Their model, built on values of self-representation, ownership, and long-term impact, remains core to their mission.
“Legacy, in my opinion, isn’t just about what one builds—it’s about who gets to build after you,” Joedy said. “The hope with 9XV Capital and RECRUIT FIRST is to create infrastructure and inspiration that empower the next generations to lead with both ownership and authenticity.”
As 9XV Capital continues to grow its footprint across industries, the company is proving that mission-driven investment can coexist with business success. With a focus on empowerment, innovation, and heritage, Joedy Addison and Tony Gastearl are building more than a brand—they’re shaping the future.
