Fashion is an industry where change is constant and innovation is key. Yet in a space often dominated by bold statements and fast-paced trends, Kyris Brown has found his voice through quiet precision and intentional design. A designer deeply connected to the cultural richness of the Mississippi Delta, Brown is redefining luxury—not as a passing trend, but as a lifestyle rooted in legacy, purpose, and individuality. His menswear brand, Kyris Kustoms, has made its mark on major stages including the Grammys and the Super Bowl, and he's recently expanded into lifestyle products with the launch of his unisex fragrance, AMIEL BROWN. Guided by a deep commitment to craftsmanship and authenticity, Kyris is building a brand that blends timeless style with personal expression. In a recent interview with So FN Dope Magazine, he shares the journey behind his creative vision and the values that continue to shape his work.

“I’m a proud country boy from the Mississippi Delta that loves Mississippi,” Kyris says, confidently. “Since a child until now, the famous Mississippi author William Faulkner’s quote reigns true: ‘To understand the world, one must first understand a place like Mississippi.’” This grounding in place and culture gives Kyris Kustoms a signature style—deeply personal, elegant, and enduring.

Founded on the principles of craftsmanship and individuality, Kyris Kustoms has become a go-to brand for custom garments that range from classic business suits to red carpet statements. The brand’s timeless appeal and attention to detail have earned it a loyal clientele that includes celebrities, athletes, and visionaries. But for Kyris, it’s never just about the clothes—it’s about the people and the stories stitched into every seam.

“Whatever I’ve been a part of, I’ve always approached it as a student,” he reflects. “Studying and admiring legendary brands like Ralph Lauren and Mercedes-Benz—these brands know their target markets and will never compromise their integrity for fads or trends.”

That philosophy has allowed Kyris Kustoms to maintain its luxury aesthetic while offering versatile, wearable pieces that speak to the individuality of each client. His dedication to authenticity recently led him to expand the Kyris Kustoms experience beyond the closet. AMIEL BROWN, a unisex fragrance named in part after his family lineage, marks his foray into lifestyle branding.

“Fragrances and clothing go hand in hand—it’s like butter and toast,” he says. “I got tired of spending $400-$600 on bottles and wanted to create something meaningful for both men and women.”

The scent—featuring exotic notes like cassis and patchouli—was carefully designed to evoke warmth, confidence, and sophistication. “Our 60 ml Extrait De Parfum is subtle enough for women, yet laddish enough for men to enjoy,” he explains. “It was important to me that it reflected the same elegance and versatility as our garments.”

Brown’s recent appearance on Late Night with Rita Brent gave fans a deeper look at the man behind the brand. “It’s still very surreal,” he says of the experience. “But I’ve made many pieces for Rita over the years. She’s just a solid and genuine person, and I’m fortunate she invited me to share my journey.” Exposure like this has opened doors—but Brown is intentional about how fast he walks through them.

“Opportunities like that increase your visibility, but I prefer to pace myself. You have to be prepared to scale.”

Despite his growing visibility, Brown remains deeply grounded. He champions domestic production for his garments and views his work as an ongoing education. When asked who he would most like to design for, his answer is telling: “I wouldn’t want to design anything for a celebrity. I would love to design something for the individual who started my family hundreds or even thousands of years ago. That would be amazing.”

As for what’s next, Kyris is tight-lipped—but excited. Major collaborations are on the horizon, and new lifestyle products are in development. Shoes? Possibly. Accessories? Likely. But as always, nothing will be released unless it aligns with the brand’s core values of intention and quality.

Although our world obsessed with instant gratification, Kyris Brown is playing the long game. “I heard an old man gambling in my uncle’s club when I was a kid say, ‘I’d take the slow nickel over the quick quarter any day.’ That always stuck with me,” he says. “I’m not doing anything remarkably special that’ll change mankind, but I didn’t settle or quit—and that’s what’s special about my success.” And that success, built stitch by stitch and note by note, is one that’s not just felt—it’s lived.
