DEEZLE: FROM THE CONTROL ROOM TO CENTER STAGE—R&B’S NEXT LEADING MAN EMERGES

Deezle
Deezle

For more than a decade, Deezle has been one of music’s best-kept secrets—an architect of hits whose fingerprints are embedded in the soundtracks of modern pop, hip-hop, and R&B. Now, with his new single “My Hands On Your Body,” the 3x Grammy Award–winning songwriter, producer, and engineer steps confidently out from behind the boards and into the spotlight, reminding the world that some of the most powerful voices are forged in the shadows.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Deezle—born Darius Harrison—carries the soul of his city in everything he creates. That lineage runs deep. From the bounce and bravado of Southern hip-hop to the sensuality of classic R&B and the improvisational spirit of jazz, his sound reflects a lifetime of musical immersion. It’s the same instinct that helped him co-produce Lil Wayne’s culture-shifting smash “Lollipop,” contribute to Tha Carter III, and collaborate with artists as varied as Drake, J-Lo, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Master P, Rebirth Brass Band, and jazz icon Donald Harrison Jr.

With “My Hands On Your Body,” currently building momentum on Billboard’s Urban AC chart, Deezle introduces himself anew—not as a behind-the-scenes maestro, but as a fully realized R&B artist. The song is a masterclass in restraint and release: tender vocals that glide from intimate whispers to commanding crescendos, lyrics that bottle pure chemistry, and a hook that lingers long after the track fades. It’s seductive without excess, playful without gimmicks—music that understands the power of subtlety.

The inspiration, Deezle admits, came from a deeply personal moment—one rooted in care, closeness, and human connection. That authenticity is what gives the record its undeniable pull. You don’t just hear the song; you feel it. It’s R&B in its purest form—designed to move both body and soul.

Deezle’s résumé reads like a Hall of Fame roll call. A 3x Grammy winner, 11x ASCAP Pop and R&B Award recipient, and Billion Streams Award honoree for his work on Drake’s “In My Feelings,” his career contributions span more than 75 million records sold worldwide. Yet accolades have never been the destination. For Deezle, music has always been about impact—whether through sound, culture, or community.

Beyond the studio and stage, he remains deeply committed to giving back, working with organizations such as Son of a Saint, The Louis Armstrong Foundation, The Jazz & Heritage Foundation, and the Trombone Shorty Foundation—ensuring the next generation of New Orleans talent has the support to thrive. His story and influence have been recognized by CNN, Billboard, BET, Yahoo News, Vlad TV, and more, further cementing his role as both cultural contributor and creative leader.

As a performer, Deezle’s presence is just as global as his production work—appearing at EDC Mexico, on MTV Unplugged with Molotov, and collaborating across genres and borders. Through his company BOX BANGERS MEDIA, he continues to expand his creative universe, including contributions to film scores such as Rachel Getting Married and Right to Return for Academy Award–winning director Jonathan Demme.

“My Hands On Your Body” isn’t just a single—it’s a statement. After years of shaping the sound of others, Deezle is finally telling his own story, in his own voice. And if this moment is any indication, R&B isn’t just welcoming him—it’s been waiting.
